The stars of the celestial dome are called upon to impose destiny on all men. Out of the multitude there is one star unsatisfied with his lot. He pleads with Gabriel, “Allow me control of a commoner, and I will make him King.”
Morven is a clever herdsman. Using his uncommon wit and keen insight he overtakes the rival clan. He’s labeled a star prophet. He takes the king’s daughter as his wife, encourages mutiny among the tribe, removes the noble blood line, creates a new religion, builds grand temples and secret priesthood.
Morven dies a saint.
Lucifer is well pleased. And so is the Lord– For without the religion of fear, the power of love stands as a limpid pool in a windless tract.
