In the confusion grows a vine creeping hither and tither, winding its way through the grasses and heather.
The heart shape leaves foreshadow the lovely blossoms to come.
A milk colored spiraling corkscrew emerges from the intersecting nodes.
The bud is engorged with sweet anticipation.
In the early evening I see a waving flag of white. I approach with awestruck delight. The scent is overwhelmingly pleasant, delicate, and clean. The flower stands open with four pistils erect in the center.
The corkscrew bud has unfurled into a pristine white moon face. Like a canvas jib on a wine dark sea, the flower glows in the fading light of day.
I give thanks. This MOONFLOWER is for you!
