The Adventures of Captain Hatteras by Jules Verne Book Review
Captain Hatteras used anonymous means to build, outfit, and crew his ship.
The men selected to sail with The FORWARD are sober, without family, children, or wives.
The crew embarks without knowing the captain, destination, or purpose of the journey.
Captain Hatteras finally reveals himself, disguised as a lowly sailor. He takes command, removes his lame first officer and proceeds to drive NORTH with undue concern for his crew, coal, or provisions.
They burn the last remnant of coal several latitudes shy of the hyperborean pole.
The crew mutinied.
The doctor, boatswain, carpenter, and Hatteras drive a sled to the mainland where they build shelter to over-winter.
Many adventures ensue, it is extremely pleasurable to be out among the polar bears, unafraid of face mask zombies, pharmaceutical dod operators, FBI commie fags, and Red Flag Swat teams.
The book is used to cement Euro names on the “Northwest Passage”. Over and over again Mr. Verne reviews the great voyages of Franklin, so and so, and whats-his-name.
This bay is named for that joo, that sea is named for this joo. With many Masonic names mixed in for good measure.
The end of the story is carried off very nicely with a rumbling volcano, a polar sea free from ice, lava cascades and magma cones.
I love Jules Verne. Your adventure stories are THE BEST.
Thirty three hugs.
Thank you.
The text is Peter Pan purity. I’m excited to continue reading my Jules Verne Delphi collection. I know Captain Hatteras is just a warm up to the virginal adventures awaiting my delight.
